Light Letters

I have loved these letters and have wanted some for my own.

and a few of my tweeks here is how I put mine together.

So watch the tutorial first to get an idea first of what you are trying to do.

Materials

Card board 3-D letters

{I found mine at Joanne's for $3.99 each. They have smaller ones for $2.99 eachI liked the larger ones to be able to use larger lights. For the small letters you could use the small twinkle lights.}

Masking tape

Gold and red spray paint

String of lights

Box cutter

First I cut along the boarder of the top of the letter

Next I cleaned up the inside of the box and made the edging more clean by lining the edge with masking tape.

Next I marked where I wanted to place the light bulbs

and made a hole for each light.

Then I painted the interior of the letter with gold paint.

You really could paint whatever color you want.

I chose gold because it would look like more light.

I then painted the outer part of the letter red.

Again pick whatever color you please.

After letting the letters completely dry I poked the

light bulbs through and screwed them into the socket.

One all the lights were in the letter I tried to tape or tie down all the extra cord.

Plug into an extension cord and them let the letters shine on

I was inspired by this pin I found here.

It was really fun to do Monday night for family night.

I put these tickets on their pillows before they went to bed.

So when they thought they are going were going to bed instead we loaded

up the car and took a late night Christmas light drive.

They had to have their pajamas on and brought blankets too.

Todd and I were already in the car waiting with the Christmas music on and the heat on too.

It was nice and cozy.

I called it the Christmas Light Express

Just made the tickets on the computer and put them in envelopes.

They were so excited to go and I had treats (popcorn and drinks) and Christmas music in the car.

The girlies enjoyed the ride, staying up and riding around town in our pajamas.

Did I mention that "Little" fell fast asleep about 15 minutes into the ride.

This was a favorite!

Christmas Mint Tradition with Grandma

This is a treasure for us to make chocolate christmas mints with Grandma Jan.

They are melt in your mouth good and so hard to resist
when you are trying hard to stay away from sugar.

Let's face it this whole season is hard.

Grandma has been making these since she was a little girl and we are now learning the ropes to carry on this great tradition. It takes hard work and patience to make these goodies, but well worth it.

Making the mint fondant.
You have to watch the temperature very closely.

Kneading the fondant takes some mussels.
You can't stop until it turns.
Your arms get tired.

Melting the chocolate and getting a mustache.

(Notice we finally lost that other front tooth)

She is so sneaky!

All finished with the second layer of chocolate,

cooled in the fridge and ready to cut into little thin mints.

We don't have single decoration up yet, but I want to share with my family what Christmas is all about.

I wanted to start the season with what our focus should be as a family.

It is easy to get wrapped up it the "things" of Christmas rather than the spirit of Christmas.

I have a testimony of the Savior and His birth.

Thankful

Yesterday we spent a lovely afternoon with my in-laws.

Thanksgiving dinner was fabulous!

Everything on the menu was gourmet.

After dinner and before the pie we all were able to express what we were grateful for.

Here is was my family said:

Me: "I am grateful for my eternal marriage and my eternal family.

I am thankful for my family and I love them."

Hubs: "Thankful for my family and my wife. I love my kids!"

Holly 12 years: "I am grateful for the gospel and that we have the scriptures."

Hannah 11 years: " I am thankful for Jesus Christ and the sacrifice he made for us.

I am also grateful for friends"

Lexie 8 years: "I am thankful for friends"

Jane 6 years: "I am thankful for Santa Claus!"

Much to be grateful for and for all the tender mercies that the Lord grants us daily.

I know we are watched over and that when we pray he hears us.

Trusting in His hand is a daily choice and He will guide us where we need to be.

Fort Girlie

The girlies are home for the Thanksgiving Holiday.

I think we need to build a fort!

Lulu has been asking for practically a week now.

Sometimes you just don't want to deal with all the sheets out of the linen closet

and the time of putting it all away, but what the heck!

It's time to have some fun

Sometimes I feel like a mom that in only worried about getting things done: homework, budget, laundry, cooking, cleaning work work work.

Today I am determined to have some fun.

I have the perfect empty room for this. (yes it is still empty)

Sheets, blankets, clothesline clips and things to prop sheets up.

Chalkboard

I recently cleaned out the old storage room.

I remembered that I had this gold frame from someone's storage unit.

I decided to make it into a chalkboard and put it above my piano

and write little words of inspiration for the girlies to see.

Material:

Black foam board

Chalkboard spray paint

Duct tape

Chalk

I just measured the frame opening and cut the foam board to fit perfectly.

I then spray painted the foam board and let it dry

(that is the hardest for me! I get so impatient!)

Next I placed it into the frame and taped it in place

Then used regular old chalk to write

I messed up a few times and wiped it off with a damp towel.

I will be using this a lot!

A Use for Halloween Candy

We usually make milk shakes the first Family Home Evening after Halloween.

We have enough candy that I just can't look at any more.

I just want to eat it. So this was a good way to use it up and be able to fill there lunches.

Recipe

1/2 cup butter

1/2 cup shortening

1 cup packed brown sugar

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 tsp vanilla

2 eggs

21/2 cups flour

1/2 tsp baking soda

1 pinch of salt

2 cups of chopped up candy (we preferred the chocolate based candy and we mixed candy too)

Preheat oven to 350

Cream butter, shortening and sugars together. Add the vanilla and eggs and mix until combined.

In a separate bowl mix flour, baking soda and salt.

Add dry ingredients slowly into the mixer and combine. Scrape the bowl and add the chopped candy and mix. Bake for 7-10 minutes until golden brown.

I finally did and it was super easy.

Here is a step by step

Materials:

Glass hurricane

large rubber band

indian corn

twine

Fill in indian corn all the way around the hurricane

Push the rubber band around the middle of the corn

Place candle inside and light

It looks very festive on my dining table.

Halloween Parade

Yesterday was our wards annual Halloween Parade.

We had the perfect weather and it was a hoot!

I love this time of year and making costumes is one of my favorite things to do.

Love to make something out of nothing and getting resourceful.

I had a very small budget this year and was super happy with the results.

I have one girlie missing, but you will see her tomorrow

Maybe we'll get me in a picture so you can see me too.

Anthro Inspired Necklace

I love Anthropologie but let's face the fact that I can't shop there unless I work there.

I do love to look and drool over all there items on the web.

I just window shop if you will.

I saw this necklace and decided that I could recreate it for way less.

Materials Needed
Gold chain
These acrylic links
4 jump rings
1 lobster claw clasp
a pair of needle nose pliers

First measure and have enough of the acrylic chain and gold chain you need.

I wanted it to be 20" total so I used 16" of the acrylic links and two 2" gold chain

First I placed a jump ring on each end of the acrylic chain with the needle nose pliers.

Next attach the same jump rings to the end of gold chains.

Lastly add your last two jump rings to the opposite ends of the gold chain

to finish off with a lobster claw clasp.

Tada!

Made and done in less than 10 minutes

and literally 5% of the original price.

Some more Halloween around the house.

I know you probably don't care, but I just want to

remember what I did like I do every year.

This year I couldn't add anything new so I got creative and up-cycled a few things.

Here is above the piano

I up-cycled the frame with a piece of card board spray painted with chalkboard paint.

My skeleton lights burnt out so I restrung the skeletons on a set of my christmas ones.

I didn't have enough skeletons so in between the boney men

I punched a mini cupcake liner through the light.

Girlie crafts they brought home

Mini pumpkins wrapped in crape paper.

Yes "Witchy Poo" has made a reappearance, but in a different way.

She has crash landed and is now much easier to store.

Thank You Notes

I was at the office supply aisle of the local supermarket and saw rolls of calculator tape and thought this would be fun to make into a thank you note, a really long thank you note.

The girlies had fun making them and tried to make them as long as possible.

I the rolled them up from the end of the note to the beginning so

as soon as it was slightly unrolled it was at the start of the message

and tied them up with a note of instruction.

It was a fun way to say "Thank you"

I always like to change the way my holiday decorations are set out. I tend to move things around from year to year. I have a collection of paper lanterns that I love to pull out. I decided to use these white lanterns that I use a lot and turn them into Halloween lanterns by adding a paper mask for eyes.

Once again a cheap way to change things up. I used paper and twine I already had.

Now I feel like I have new Halloween decorations and didn't spend a dime.

Crepe Paper Wreath

I wanted to make this wreath last year and never got around to it. So I took an hour and did it today.

It was cheap and easy and I love how it turned out.

Materials

crepe paper left over from last year

cardboard or foam wreath

(I just cut a ring out of a cardboard box I had, FREE)

Glue or tape

First grade is when it seems to hit for girls. It is totally unavoidable. I have noticed this with the other three girlies of mine. This week it happened for my first grader, "mean girls." She came home in tears and told me that a certain girl said,"you can't play with us I don't like your outfit." It made her sad. You can't get away from it and nor do I think that my sassy girlie is sweet as peaches all of the time, but it is still hard to go through as a parent. You just want to be able to protect them every second, but if I did that how would they grow. I reassured her that she was a cutie and that she had plenty of other friends to hang with. I also told her that if she feels cute then that is all that matters.

I guess she still needed a little more expressing because I later found this on the driveway.

I recently had a nephew start his freshman year at college. I wanted to give him something that he might enjoy and I saw this idea on the web somewhere. I can't remember where I saw it, but I loved this idea and decided to put my own spin on it.

These are the post cards I put together.

I gave him a stack of a dozen or so. He can fill in the blank and send me his order.

Because he is local to me I will make sure to get him his order of fresh baked goodness as soon I receive his postcard. Who doesn't love getting fresh cookies or brownies.

I hope he shares with some cute girls on campus (wink wink).

Today we left the package at his dorm. I will be watching the mail for my first order.

I wrapped the stack of postcards and gave a little treat to start it out.

48 days but who's counting. . .

That is right Halloween in 48 days away. I know I am weird, but you know that this is my favorite holiday! I have been thinking about what I want to do this year. I like to do the same stuff but change it up just a bit. I have loved the skeleton decorations in the Better Homes and Gardens special Halloween issue.

Just need about 8 more skeletons to add to the 2 I already have.

"Witchy Poo" will just have to end up like this for this year or maybe under the house.

She was a little ragged and we put her to rest, but I kept her legs.

I guess to say I am is an understatement.

Family Theme 2011-2012 school year

Last night we sat down around the dinner table and enjoyed dinner together. It's time to get back to the regular routine of a home cooked meal every night. I love eating together because it is when we get to talk to the girls and find out what is going on. They laugh and joke and talk about their day. As parents we love this and laugh too with what they have to say about whatever. I love to look across the table and see my best friend and the kids in between. They always fight over who gets to sit by him.

It only last for about 20 minutes, but it is a great 20 minutes.

So this night we decided to talk about goals for the school year

and introduce the family theme for the year. I had them each write some things on their placemat.

We decided to focus on a scripture that we love. Alma 57:20-21. In this scripture in the Book of Mormon the chapter talks about a great war happening between two ancient civilizations. One is fighting for the right and freedom and the other is trying to murder and control. The great warriors fighting for right were young men that numbered in about 2000. They were taught by their mothers to be good men. In this part they are standing before the bad guys. Here is what it says:

20. And as a remainder of our army were about to give way before the Lamenites, behold those two thousand and sixty were

FIRM and UNDAUNTED.

21. Yea, and they did obey and observe to perform every word of command with exactness; yea, and even according to their faith it was done unto them; and I did remember the words which they said unto me that their mothers and taught them.

We thought this was perfect for our family to stand firm for our beliefs and be undaunted or immovable. We also thought that it would be summed up into one word. We asked the girls to think of one word that would describe these young men. Our oldest said, "AWESOME!"

Perfect that was our theme for the year. . .

Which to our family means be firm and undaunted.

I saw this idea here and loved that we could make our own.

We included all the girls in putting it together.

They loved painting this and layering and layering the colors.

Each color represents a member of our family.

They came up with a master piece.

It turned out pretty great and it will hang in a place where they will read it daily.

Seventh grader 12, Sixth grader 11, Third grader 8 & First grader 6

It is the start of another year. We all agree that summer went way too fast.
School shopping was fun. I like to let them pick out one outfit for the first day.
I love how their personalities show in what they each picked for themselves.
We found everything thing that they are wearing here and here.
Perfect place for a family on a budget.

This morning everyone was up and adam ready to get going.

Served this for breakfast which is always a favorite.

Packed these babies in the lunches so they could have a bit of home.

Dropped the elementary girlies off first.
Walked them in to the school.
My sixth grader was like "Mom, I know where my class is see ya"
Third grader said, "Where is it again?"
First grader was off down the hallway and off too class.
I followed her to make sure she made it to the right place.
We found her backpack hanger with her name on it and next the desk.
We found her desk and the boy sitting next to her lit up.
She suddenly turned red and got shy (She is not a shy girl).
It was her crush that she is in love with all last year.
Her face was priceless and so was his.
I will be hearing about him again all year!

Next, dropped my Junior High girlie off.

Yep, she is off to the place we call middle school.

Oh, boy I think I was more nervous for her than she was.

I guess it is time for me to realize that your kids grow up and you can't do anything about it.

She was ready and with a high five she jumped out of the car and was on her way.

I can't wait to hear about her day.

P.S. you probably noticed the new do on little. No, I did not convert her to short hair either.
She was certain that she wanted that and so I let her cut it short.
Turned out totally cute and so her.

We spent a few days at one of our favorite places, Lake Powell.

Working At The Car Wash

Have taken a little pause from the blog. Broken Camera is main problem and most of my photos are from my phone. Lame!!!!!!! So I will catch up the month with all that my phone has.

Up first: Washing the car with friends.

I know when my girlies write the name Flo on my car it is time to wash it,

and because they write it with their finger they have to help me clean it.

So I am guessing that is the name for my car FLO and I have no idea why.

So one day after swim team practice I took them to the car wash.

They were already in their swimsuits and I had picked out all the quarters from the coin jar.

They first cranked up the music and then proceeded with an original towel dance routine.

Girls you've got your ticket to Hollywood!

They cleaned and cleaned and I paid them for their service.

I am lucky they works for snowies!

We found one stop that we like, Sumo Snow Shack

and at the bottom of each snowie there is a little surprise sumo (gummy bear)

Everyone started by coming in and meeting their masters and getting a crape paper headband.

Headband was just tied in a double knot around their forehead.

Note: When you involve the older sisters and their friends it makes for more fun and less work!

This month is a busy one for our household.

Fun & Games

The first game we played at this cereal party was a "guess who"

The game that you have to ask only yes and no questions to find out who you are.

When each guest arrived they were labeled with a famous cereal character.

It was fun to hear the kids say "Oh, I love your cereal"

Next the guest were able to make there own bowls

I found these white bowls in a pack of 4 for $1.00 at Target dollar section

We used paint pens I had.

We let them dry and when they were done they used them for their cereal.

A fun party favor along with a spoon and mini cereal

The next game we played was a breakfast cereal quiz which I found here

The last thing we did was divide the girls into pairs.

They then had to pick out of a bowl a slip of paper with a cereal on it.

They then had 10 minutes to come up with a commercial for their cereal brand.

They included jingles along with them.

We played this twice because they loved it so much.

Someone is turning 11 tomorrow and we are pumped!

She has requested a party with cereal so this is what we came up with for invites.

Mini cereal boxes covered with a personalized cereal for the birthday girl.

As a kid we would try to get my mom to buy the cereals with prizes and then we would dig for it.

We thought this would be a fun way to send the invite information

We gave all the guests a "special prize inside".

Along with the invite I gave each one of the guests a mini spoon.

We had some left over from this party and they fit perfectly in the mini box.

I just tried to mimic the cereal boxes in the cupboard.

This year for the Hub's Birthday I decided to do this.

I found the idea here.

I thought, "this is genius"

Why?

Because we get in a regular routine when it comes to date night.

I thought it would be fun to try new places and new activities.

I fill 12 white envelopes with 12 different date nights

Some have a gift card included for the date night.

Some just had print outs of the activity that we would be doing.

So for every month the Hubs will open the envelope for that month and we will go do that activity.

I guess it is like 12 coupons he can redeem.

We went to the salon and she was originally going for a nice good trim

and then she got in the chair and said,

"Cut it just like my mom's"

Starry Starry Night

The 6th Grade Cotillion

Theme: Starry Starry Night

It was a fantastic night and this girlie couldn't have been more beautiful.

This is a night when the whole sixth grade comes for nice sit down dinner and dancing.

They put on their best manners and have a fun end of the year party.

I was lucky enough to work on this and plan it with a friend.

It couldn't have been more perfect.

All the students got to dance with their mom or dad during the dance.

Her dad can't believe how old she is getting.

She is growing up to be quite the young lady.

Friends in the photo booth we put together.

We had some of the kids paint the backdrop for it.

They recreated the painting "Starry Starry Night" on a sheet of canvas drop cloth

and spray paint from the local home improvement store.

Highly recommended and great to work with.

They turned the gym into something truly enchanting.

When the students walked through the crepe paper streamers from the dining area

they couldn't believe what we transformed the gym into.

We were lucky to have them be taught the Cha Cha and other ballroom dances

by a parent that is an instructor that they performed for their parents at the end of the evening.

Cooking Class: Tastey Tortillas

This class we learned about fractions

Materials:

tortilla

butter

knife for spreading

cinnamon and sugar

shaker for the cin and sug

The kindergartners loved this one.

Totally easy to do at home without help and yummy too.

First spread butter

Next sprinkle cinnamon and sugar

Pop in the microwave for 10 seconds and the fold into a triangle

Folding in half and then in half again.

Then eat with the open side up.

That way melted butter doesn't drip out

It is that great time of year when our school has their annual art show.

We have the most amazing art program with the most amazing art teacher!

I believe that art and learning to be creative is so important to learn as a child.

I think that is not only helps people to express themselves,

but I also think that it helps in problem solving.

Sometimes you have to think out of the box to solve things.

Being creative does that for me.

So, I love this art program!

It is not just coloring and painting,

it is learning about the many different artists and types of paintings and techniques.

This year I helped out by making signs for all different art sections

In the famous authors and illustrators hall

the kids recreated the work in picture books.

LuLu had a great "Where The Wild Things Are" illustration

For this sign I just book pages cut out of a book with black lettering clothes line clipped to twine.

These frames I painted hung from the ceiling pointing the way through

the gallery that wound through the whole school.

This was the Recycled Art section.

I made this sign out of cereal boxes magazines coffee filters and cupcake liners.

The little garland is punched out magazine pages sewn together.

The Kindergarten Zoo was only the kindergartners.

Everything they made had to do with an animal.

I can't wait to get these in frames.

I want to do something like this in my basement with all of their work someday.

Materials:
Cupcake
Green Frosting
Coconut that is green with food coloring
(place coconut in a pastic baggie and add a few drops of food coloring and then mush around)
jelly beans or robin egg candy

Kids frost their cupcake and I always remind them not to lick their knife. It is tempting every time.

I tell them that they can lick their fingers though and

they usually purposely spread the frosting onto their hands.

Next sprinkle the coconut and place eggs in the nest.

We talked about spring and the birds that they have noticed and how they build their nests.

Most of the kids were not interested in the coconut but I tried to get them to try it.

Funny thing if they don't want to try something I get the "I'm allergic" response.

We welcome May!

I am thrilled to see you and the sun coming through my window.

I have had so much going on and not a second to spare in April.

Life is moving and I wish it would slow down.

I forget my little journal (this blog) and how important it is to document this life of mine.

This is the whole reason I blog for my girlies.

Little lost her first tooth on April 15th

You should have seen how excited she was to finally loose one.

She has been waiting about 10 months for one to loosen up. I convinced her that if she would brush her teeth really good that the "Toothfairy" would help her get a wiggly one.

It paid off too and she has been so diligent.

Finally when it was ready to come out and hanging by a thread, her older sister reached right inside her tiny mouth pulling on it. "Pop" it came right out and there was a shout of glee!

I can't believe Little let her do it!

She is so proud and now in every picture she makes sure to smile to show her bottom teeth

and the void that is there.

The class has been studying the life cycle of a butterfly.

In this cooking class I wanted the kids to try celery if they have never tasted it

and also practice spreading.

They could choose cream cheese or peanut butter.

They had fun making these spring snacks.

Some kids were surprised that they like celery.

Let's face it anything tastes better with peanut butter.

Special Day

It was a very special day for our family.

Lulu being 8 years old now chose to be baptized a member of the church.

What a special spirit that was there.

I wish I had a picture of her face when I looked at her while her grandma was talking to her about the special gift she would receive. I will never forget it. Her eyes were welling up with tears.

She had a smile on her face that was so angelic. Her whole aura was glowing.

It was so wonderful to see her take it all in.

Dressed in the dress her great grandmother made.
The same dress that her grandmother, great aunts, aunts, mother and sisters wore also.
She was Baptized and Confirmed by her Father.

Seeing all the loving support of family, friends and primary leaders that attended.

Bee-nana played a sweet piano piece, "I am a Child of God"

OAL Gave a great talk about baptism.

These sisters are so tight. I love their sweet relationship.

It was one of those special times that I never will forget. We were together as a family.

I could forget about the petty things of the world and sit there holding her hand and be uplifted and watch her take this important step in her life. The words that were spoken and sung that day reminded me of what truly matters most and what my goals are her and my family.

Thinking eternally and remembering that this is what makes me truly happy. . .

I love cooking class. I try to help the kids learn to follow directions and following them in order.

I also try to teach them basics like using a butter knife and measuring.

It is really fun that I have an chance to do this on a weekly basis.

When I come through the door with my apron on the kids get so excited.

The bonus is that I get to work with my youngest girlie.

This week the kindergartners have been studying dental care. In cooking class we made teeth.

They turned out pretty cute and the kids did a great job making them.

Since our Lulu has turned 8 years old and was recently baptized

(I will post more about that sweet experience soon) she was able to choose to get her ears pierced.

For my lu, she is the girliest of all at my household and there was no hesitation to go and get it done.

Not even a flinch when they shot the post into her ears.

She had a confident grin on her face the whole time. She was pleased as punch for this moment.

I have been seeing this fun trend on cakes and it's pretty cute, but too much time to put together for me. I was at my local craft store and saw this and thought "now that would be so much easier!"

So I purchased and cut to the length I needed and tied the ends to the two large skewers.

Snow and Sunday Morning

Waking up to a layer of fresh white snow is peaceful.
Having a long Sunday morning with my family is priceless.
Today feels good

Recipe for the syrup my kids will only eat now (spoiled)

1 cup buttermilk
1 cup butter
2 cup sugar
2 Tb. Corn Syrup
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda

Using a very large pan, boil buttermilk, butter and sugar. When you add the baking soda, this will expand, this is why you need the large pan. Trust me from my past mistakes. Add syrup, vanilla and soda. You will then have a rich golden syrup up will want to put on everything. You can store it in the refrigerator for several weeks. Always reheat when you are ready to use again. I just pop it in the microwave for a minute.

You will not want to use that store bought stuff again.

Pajama Party

What I love about the parties we do is that all my girlies get involved. They help me decorate, make stuff and help with the activities that we do during the party. We love to round up their friends to help too. For this party we had different salon stations (nail, facials and hair) they were all so helpful!

We had our guests start with breakfast and then on to the pampering. Just dance and singing on the Wii. It was the best 2 hour sleepover ever. The greatest part? That the birthday girl was thrilled.

This is the reason that my living room is still empty right?

It is an easy place to throw up a table and call it a party room.

Sometimes I find them before they do and I love to read what they write.

Cooking Class: Snowmen

I have the great job of teaching a cooking class to my littlest kindergarten class every Wednesday.

Today we made snowmen

They turned out so cute thought I would share how easy they were to make

Kiddos had a great time making them.

I let them decide if they wanted to do anything different like add feet with a toothpick.

Pretty self explanatory.

Couple of tips: put a large dot of frosting on the plate first for the base marshmallow to stay stable

also put together the head before attaching.

Time:

10 minutes

Materials:

mini paper plates

jumbo marshmallows (the extra big ones that are new) - bottom

medium marshmallows - middle

small marshmallows - head

frosting - to stick together

red hots - buttons

toothpicks - arms {break the toothpick in half}

orange jimmy sprinkles - nose

food coloring - eyes and mouth {dab the point of a toothpick and dot onto marshmallow}

mini oreo - hat

red vine string - scarf {something we didn't have}

Christmas morning was so much fun.

What makes it fun is the kids with their excitement and happy smiles.

We start at the top of the stairs with the traditional picture.

What a great morning.

For me it was all about the girls.

I sat back there and watched all the magic of the morning.

There in the living room we spent time together laughing and screaming and giggling.

Girlies were the most excited to give the gifts that they had made for each other.

We decided to save them for the last, a new tradition that we will keep.

I couldn't help but feel so grateful for my family.

That I married my best friend and that we have four great daughters.

That we made the most of the 2010 that we could with what we had and it turned out pretty good.

So maybe I didn't get that watch for Todd and he didn't get me that flip camera that I wanted but we realized that no gifts would ever top the morning we had as a family.

We have a lot of wonderful things to look forward to.

We have been making a ton of these sequin balls. Something to wear tonight for the New Year's Eve celebrations. Instructions found here on Martha Stewart for many different projects. We are obsessed! One of the girlies made different things for her sisters for Christmas gifts and they were a hit. Your 10 year old can do this and it is not hard. We just can't stop wrapping things in sparkle and shine. I need to settle down before I start wrapping something I will regret.

My we have been busy! I hope to post soon all the fun we have had with our Christmas List and the oldest girlie turning 12. But for now a picture for all to see my sweet little sugar plum fairies.

We got a special delivery tonight marked "open me". They didn't hesitate and found Christmas pajamas. They quickly stripped off the old pajamas they had on and put on the new ones.

Along with the pajamas they received these fun eye covers.

Here they are getting ready to sleep, or try to anyway.

Like every Christmas Eve they all sleep together in our giant sleeping bag. They love this tradition.

Notice: Littlest got hat at the Christmas Eve dinner from Grandma and refused to take it off for bed.

The Four Sugar Plum Girlies

We are getting more of the Christmas Holiday list done.

When we decided to do this last year it was really to make more memories as a family at Christmas.

We want our kids to remember the fun things that we do during this time of year when they grow old.

We want them to remember the feelings they had being together.

We made gingerbread houses last night with Auntie. No joke it was a huge mess, but so much fun to let the girls get there imaginations going with what they wanted to make their houses into. I am all about semi-homemade, so these pre made houses were perfect except for one thing. They were broken :( so we improvised and remodeled using hot glue. It didn't stop there we hot glued every house together.

I think that we will get the glue gun out every year from now on.

We took a long awaited trip to Palm Desert over the Thanksgiving Holiday.

Since we had some free tickets to Disneyland for volunteering way back in March

we decided to head to "the Happiest place on Earth" for one day.

It was just what we needed as a family.

We had the BEST time together.

Auntie (my sister) got to come with us too

Hardly took any pictures.

I was having too much fun.

Spinning and spinning.

Just look at their faces they are having a ball.

I am so extremely grateful for this fun day we will all remember.
